Ingredients
- 1 cup lukewarm water
- 1 package yeast
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ cup cooking oil or oleo (oleo was what gramma wrote when she meant margarine)
- 5-6 cups self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water.
- Add other ingredients
- Pour into greased bowl
- Cover tightly & refrigerate...use as needed.
Notes
- The recipe ends there. The standard method for baking biscuits is to cook 8-10 minutes in a preheated 400° oven, or until golden brown.
